For over 100 years the Colvend Southwick and Kirkbean Parish has held a sale in aid of church funds on the second Thursday of August which takes place at Colvend Public Hall. Renowned for the bargains to be had people come from miles around to see what they can find and join in the fun,

The Sale did not take place during Covid but came back successfully in 2023.  The picture shows the queue to enter the Hall.  Thanks to the generosity of the local community all sorts of items are donated – and you never know what you will find. There are delicious jams, bread and cakes, china and glass, fancy goods, toys and games, plants, jewellery, bric-a-brac and so on.  

 Such an event requires a fair amount of organisation and support.  Between manning stalls and setting up there must be over 60 people involved in running the sale.  However it seems we can never have enough volunteers so new helpers are always welcome.  Email  enquiry@colvendcommunity.co.uk to volunteer or seek more information.
