A Taste of Acrylics for Absolute Beginners

Saturday, 20 November, 2021 - 10:00 to 16:00

Acrylics are seen as an attractive and easy medium for the amateur painter. However, Kate firmly believes that you still need a good foundation course into the basic essentials and skills required to use this diverse medium to its limits ..whilst still having fun of course!

  • The workshop will initially concentrate on materials and medium usage, not forgetting brush and palette knife technique.  We will move swiftly on to practical exercises to help you learn quickly and effectively the skills you need to advance to a painting.

  • These skills are also transferable to those interested in progressing into oil paint in the future.

These introductory days can be followed up with further sessions to help you gain confidence and build on the skills you have learnt and apply your new skills to a wealth of subject matter.

Cost £95.  Including all materials and refreshments.  Bring a packed lunch.

To book a place or for more information contact Kate Bentley - tel 07761 183908 or email kate@katebentley.co.uk

Colvend Public Hall - Annual General Meeting

Wednesday, 11 November, 2020 - 14:00

Colvend Public Hall is owned by the local community and its day-to-day running is dependent on hall lets and various events organised by the Management Committee.  Ity is our major community asset.

This year we have fortunately had additional support from Dumfries and Galloway Council and the Robin Rigg Windfarm Fund, money which will be used for refurbishment of the Hall floor, new tables and chairs and upgrading of the stage lighting.

At the AGM all members of the community are able to give their views on the Hall, elect next year’s committee, or volunteer to serve on the committee and take part in decisions affecting the Hall. Your participation would be welcomed.

We need more members of the community to involve themselves

This meeting will take place by Zoom. To obtain an invitation to join please contact John_Coates00@hotmail.com
